A Woman Of No Importance is part of the Talking Heads series of monologues. Peggy Schofield is a methodically fussy middle-aged spinster who considers herself to be a vital cog in the wheels of order and bureaucracy. When her health surprisingly takes a turn for the worse, we follow Peggy through its stages, employed by minimal set and subtle props to depict her situation.

Persistently cheerful, blind to the feelings of others and, at heart, terribly lonely, Peggy is at once a richly comic and desperately moving creation, providing a rewarding challenge for a mature actress.
