The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time
A Play by Simon Stephens Based on the Novel by Mark Haddon.
Set in Swindon and London, the story concerns a young boy, Christopher Boone, a mathematical genius, who is neurodiverse. Finding his neighbour’s dog (Wellington) dead, speared with a garden fork, Christopher embarks on a detective mission to find what happened to Wellington.
Told from Christopher’s perspective his ‘detecting’ unravels a twisted tale that challenges his understanding of the world. Told through his own words, with his diary narrated by his teacher, and vocalised by the chorus of six, supported by his parents. The story tells of Christopher’s struggles with understanding the world, his love of mathematics, his rat Toby, the mystery of Wellington’s death, his fears, and the definition of truth.
