This play is an avant-garde exploration of the relationship between the internal and external reality we live in and how we interact with both ourselves and others in the wake of extreme trauma. It traverses the antipodes of the human mind and the deepest recesses of its inner structure, playing out upon a landscape of love and loss, intimately personal and yet found within us all. A tender reflection of reality in its truest and most unapologetic light that serves to expose what it means to be alive and to find what keeps us going day after day.

We follow John as he learns how to live and love again, finding the person he’s been looking for his whole life under the most unlikely of circumstances in Jane. His perfect life disintegrates into utter chaos and despair as he is enchained once more by his past, throwing him deep into the darkest corners of his mind, imprisoning him there. The only escape is confronting the truth, no matter how painful that is. Observing it all? A single, solitary Clown.

This is a play of limitless possibilities; we only choose to depict one, as with our lives themselves. What isn’t shown or said is just as important, if not arguably, more important than the contrary.
